PROJECT COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to create a brighter energy future as part of a passionate and purpose-driven organization? The Energy Coalition (TEC) seeks multiple Project Coordinators (PCs) to join our Marketing, Education, and Outreach (ME&O) team with a specific focus on Education and Training.

This position will provide administrative, planning, coordination, and implementation support to other team members working on our education and training activities. Support for the education and training team includes implementing TEC’s Energy is Everything program offerings through educator outreach, engagement, and event support. 

Additionally, the successful candidates will support the rollout of new programs and initiatives under existing and anticipated new contracts.

Your responsibilities will focus on providing administrative, planning, coordination, and implementation support, including but not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and coordinate recruiting logistics for program participants in the Energy is Everything program offerings.

  • Provide mentorship and administrative assistance to TEC-hosted Fellows to ensure their community service projects deliver positive outcomes and all fellowship activities are accurately documented.

  • Assist the team in planning, coordinating, and facilitating training for program participants. Training is typically biweekly and monthly and may be held on-site or virtually.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with program participants and other stakeholders, such as community-based organizations, strategic partners, and subcontractors/vendors.

  • Oversee engagement, implementation, and scope related to enrollment and implementation, team member responsibilities, partnership building, and educator relationships.

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate implementation activities with internal and external parties; tasks include developing program communications, scheduling meetings and events, preparing agendas and briefings, and note-taking.

Other Duties

  • Develop a solid comprehension of program components and initiatives

  • Support with in-person educational events as needed and available

  • Research and synthesize educational content to apply it to training development

  • Research as instructed and present findings to internal staff to support program enhancements

  • Represent TEC initiatives with external stakeholders and partners

  • Explore partnership opportunities with other nonprofits, resource providers, utility providers, and local government agencies

  • Develop and distribute program-wide communications, such as e-newsletters and other outreach materials 

  • Assist in tracking, reporting, and analyzing metrics on the attainment of contracted goals, deliverables, and objectives by using tracking templates 

  • Produce regularly scheduled updates and reports on the progress of assigned projects

  • Compile report narratives and gather supporting materials

  • Review project documents for accuracy

  • Organize and maintain program documents

  • Strategize with Project Managers and the larger team to meet program goals and metrics

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • Relevant work experience in the energy efficiency and sustainability industry is preferred

  • Experience with public speaking, events, and community engagement, both in-person and online

  • Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships following the principles of authentic community engagement and environmental justice

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English (both verbal and written)

  • Be engaging, enthusiastic, and authentic while demonstrating a genuine interest in and an ability to communicate with various audiences about clean energy and related topics 

  • Demonstrate interest in and knowledge of authentic community engagement, including cultural awareness, knowledge, and respect of BIPOC, hard-to-reach, rural, and other demographics related to TEC’s mission of serving environmental justice communities

  • A passion for and basic understanding of energy efficiency and distributed energy resource (DER) concepts

  • Good project management skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to support various team members and complete assignments in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner

  • Proficiency in writing reports and business correspondence

  • Ability to perform required project tasks independently

  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to attend meetings and events 

  • Have an active cell phone plan/service

  • Experience with the Salesforce platform and Google Apps is preferred

  • MS Excel skills and familiarity with advanced functions (lookup tables, conditional formatting, etc.) preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required)

Work Environment: This position can work remotely except when business needs require in-person attendance at meetings and events at TEC offices or customer sites. TEC will continue implementing a hybrid model to allow us to innovate and gather in person when it makes sense while championing a flexible work environment and promoting work-life balance. COMPENSATION

Salary: This position's starting base pay range is $23.08 -$31.25/hour ($48,000 - $65,000 annually). This hiring range is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range at the time of the posting and is subject to change. The compensation offered will be determined by various factors, including a candidate’s experience, education, training, skills, and certifications.
